The Best Rosacea Skin Care Routine I’ve Ever Used

Hi Rosy Friends! 🌸

I couldn’t be happier to be blogging about good news.  I think we could all do with a bit of happy stuff these days.

If you’ve been following this blog or my Rosy JulieBC YouTube videos, then you know that I’ve been struggling to find a new skin care routine that works for me.

Ever since SBT Seabuckthorn closed, I’ve been on the hunt for skin care that won’t irritate and – dare I say – would help my skin to stay healthy.  Not an easy feat! By the end of the winter, I’d found one that was tolerable. I wasn’t a huge fan of it, but it did the trick.  Then, earlier this year, I came across two natural skin care companies that changed everything.

The Two Natural Skin Care Companies that Saved the Day

Noble Naturals Rosacea Skin CareThe first was Bedrock natural skincare (as you know if you read my blog post: That Feeling When You Find a Natural Rosacea Skin Care That Works…).   The second was Noble Naturals. The product combination from these two companies has me making high-pitched squeaky noises like a bottlenose dolphin! 🐬  I’m serious. They’re just that good with my skin.

Before I get into the reviews, I’m going to do three things:

  1. Confirm that this post is not paid/sponsored/affiliated with either Noble Naturals or Bedrock skin care.
  2. Let you know that there is a coupon code for Noble Naturals at the bottom of this post in case you want to try anything I have tried (and I don’t make money if you use that, BTW).
  3. Remind you that I’m not a doctor or skin care expert. I’m a book author with rosacea.

Right, so let’s get that done so we can get into the reviews.

1. This Is an Honest Review with No Financial Connection to Any Mentioned Brand

To preface absolutely everything I’m about to say after this point, this is not a sponsored post. I’m not affiliated with Bedrock skin care or Noble Naturals in any way. If you head over to their sites and buy twelve jars of anything I mention in this review, or if you just click away, I don’t stand to gain or lose financially. I am not being paid, rewarded or compensated through sponsorship, affiliation, commissions or anything else. All opinions in this post are my own, based on my experience trying out each of these products on my face.

2. There Are Bedrock and Noble Naturals Coupon Codes Available

Again, I will not be financially rewarded in any way if you use these coupon codes. I requested them from each company when I fell in love with the products because I knew I’d be raving about them. I asked for the coupon codes so that you can save money in case you want to try them out, too.  Both companies – being the awesomepants brands they are – agreed and shared codes with me.

Click for the Bedrock Balm coupon code, at the bottom of the blog about the Bedrock Balm I use.

The Noble Naturals coupon code is at the bottom of this post.

3. I Am Not a Doctor or Skin Care Expert

Please remember that I’m not a doctor, dermatologist, or skin care expert in any other way. I’m the author of a couple of children’s books and the co-author of the Perspective book series.  Admittedly, my main character, Irys Godeleva, has amazing skin…but that’s straight out of my imagination. Other than by wearing the 50 pounds of makeup I wear when I cosplay her, I do not know how to achieve her porcelain-doll-perfect complexion IRL.

This being the case, please don’t consider anything in this post to be a recommendation for your skin. This is an opinion piece based on how these products work with my rosacea-prone skin. I wish I could tell you that your skin will react the exact same way if you try any of these products, but I can’t.  If you try anything on this list, it might work the same way for you, it might work even better, or it might not be great for you at all.  That seems to be the case with absolutely everything when it comes to rosacea. Still, careful trial-and-error appears to be the way many of us come across what works for us, so if sharing my experience helps you or even just entertains you, then I hope you enjoy this blog post.

Okay, so that’s everything I needed to say in advance. Here’s what you came for!

The Products in the Best Rosacea Skin Care Routine I’ve Ever Tried

The real victory with this rosacea skin care routine arrived when I went for a walk with my mother (social/physical distancing, of course) and she asked if I was wearing makeup.  My skin looked that much better than it has been! I didn’t know whether to dance or cry happy tears! No, this isn’t a rosacea cure, but it has made a noticeable calming difference, and I love it!

Noble Naturals Chamomile Cleansing Cream

Noble Naturals Chamomile Cleansing Cream on RosaceaThe Noble Naturals Chamomile Cleansing Cream is easily the best cleanser I’ve ever used on my face.  This is saying a lot because my last favourite was head-and-shoulders better than anything else I’d ever used.  When that product went away, I was pretty certain that I’d never find anything nearly as good. I would have been satisfied with half as good.  This product is better than that one.  By a long shot. It’s amazing.

I still have a bottle of my old favourite (I really stockpiled when the company was shutting down! It’s good until November 2020, so I found a replacement just in time!).  I have my old and new favourite rosacea cleansers, and I can say with confidence that the Noble Naturals Chamomile Cleansing Cream is the winner in cleansing, calming, and the perfect after-cleansing balance between cleansing ick away and preventing stripping my skin.

I do miss the luxurious lavender essential oil smell from my old favourite cleanser, but a bajillion years ago when I reviewed that product, I found out that several people couldn’t use it because lavender was a trigger for them, so I feel that Noble Naturals made the right call in formulating its Chamomile Cleansing Cream without adding extra essential oils just for scent purposes.  That said, it smells just fine to me. It has a lovely pump bottle and two pumps are enough to thoroughly cleanse my face without leaving it feeling either stripped or buttery.

Chamomile Cleansing Cream Ingredients

Deionized Water, Grapeseed Oil, Jojoba Oil, Cucumber Fruit Extract, Calendula Extract, Rice Bran Oil, Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extract, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Decyl Glucoside, Chamomile Oil, Sucrose Cocoate, Glyceryl Stearate, Emulsifying Wax, Phenoxyethanol, Caprlyl Glycol

Bedrock Balm

Bedrock Balm Natural Rosacea Skin Care that WorksI reviewed Bedrock Balm in depth in my last blog post.

Click here to check it out, including the Bedrock Balm ingredients, coupon code, my review and the video I made about it.  I’d review it again here, but as you can see, this post is far from short. I’d rather focus on the new stuff and let you click to this thorough review that I’ve already done if you want to check out Bedrock Balm. You’ll be glad you did!

Noble Naturals Chamomile Floral Water

Noble Naturals Chamomile Floral WaterAfter using rose water so long, I was hesitant to try another floral water. That said, when I decided to try the Noble Naturals skin care products, I chose to go for it and try their full line meant for sensitive, reactive skin. That brought me to the Chamomile Floral Water.

I use a quick spritz of it on either side of my freshly cleansed face and just spread it around and tap it in with my fingertips (I avoid using anything but my fingertips on my skin as much as possible). It’s soothing and helps to keep my skin calm during my nighttime rosacea skin care routine.

Noble Naturals Chamomile & Witch Hazel Calming Toning Mist

Noble Naturals Chamomile and Witch Hazel Toning Mist
(This is the sample version of this product. The full size has a label 😂)

The Noble Naturals Chamomile & Witch Hazel Calming Toning Mist is what I use in place of the Chamomile Floral Water during the daytime.  It contains alcohol-free witch hazel, which is why it doesn’t cause my skin to react (unlike low-quality witch hazel which does the opposite as it contains alcohol).  I haven’t used a toner in years because I haven’t found much point when my goal has always been to simplify my rosacea skin care routine, use as few products and ingredients as possible, and try to avoid anything that could irritate my skin or trigger my symptoms.

Still, as I said, I was in this rosacea skin care routine test for the whole experience, so I got the toner, too. I was surprised to discover that this is a very soothing product and, over time, it has made a difference in the size of my pores! I have gigantic pores on my nose and on my cheeks in the area closest to my nose. They’re still quite visible, but not as gaping as they used to be. It’s a definite difference that I can see.

Noble Naturals Isla Oil

Noble Naturals Isla Anti-Inflammatory Facial OilPronounced “eye-la” oil (unlike how I pronounced it in my video…oops!😅), the Noble Naturals Isla Oil is like a magic potion for my inflamed, temper tantrum-prone skin.  Like the cleanser, this is one of those jaw-droppingly good products that truly defined this combination as my best rosacea skin care routine ever.

I’ve used many, many skin oils over the last handful of years.  I haven’t tried anything this incredible (including my beloved departed Rosy Days Facial Oil).  It is a silky oil that needs only 4-5 drops to do my entire face.  It spreads very easily and absorbs surprisingly quickly.  Those are definitely great features, but it gets better.

Unlike every single other facial oil I’ve tried, the Isla Oil doesn’t leave a layer of oiliness on the surface of my skin.  Still, despite that fact, it is very hydrating and leaves my skin soft.  Not just a little bit soft. Very soft. Irys Godeleva soft!  Instantly.  Before the first time I tried it, the areas around the edge of my jaw felt rough and unpleasant.  My skin gets like that in the winter. I’d accepted it as the way my skin simply is.  Nope! As it turns out, when I have the right rosacea skin care products, my skin can be beautifully soft! It has been soft since that first use.

Isla Oil Ingredients

Coconut (MCT) Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Calendula Extract , Jojoba Oil, Chamomile Oil

Noble Naturals Cosmic Cream

Noble Naturals Cosmic CreamThe Noble Naturals Cosmic Cream is the last step to my best ever rosacea skin care routine. Two little pumps of this light but shockingly moisturizing cream is all it takes to top off the Isla Oil.  When I used it for the first time, I thought it was too light to give my skin the amount of moisture it needs. I was ready to be disappointed.  I’ve never been so happy to be wrong.

Like the Isla Oil, the Cosmic Cream absorbed very quickly, but left my skin perfectly moisturized.  It didn’t leave a slimy or oily layer behind. After a minute, it felt as though my skin was naturally perfectly moisturized.  For the last year and a half, my skin has felt some level of dry with an oily product on top. This cream is the perfect balance of calming and moisturizing for my parched, reactive skin. It stays soft and moisturized without being oily all day and all night long.

Cosmic Cream Ingredients

Deionized Water, Hemp Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Meadowfoam Oil, Shea Butter, Aloe Leaf (Juice) Extract, Carrot Tissue Oil, Jojoba Oil, Sweet Almond Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Coconut (MCT) Oil, Chamomile Flower Extract, Tocopherol (vitamin e), Japanese Green Tea Leaf Extract, Emulsifying Wax, Glycerin, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, Phenoxyethanol, & Caprylyl Glycol

It’s Noble Naturals Coupon Code Time!

I’ve already purchased replacements for this skin care routine.  There was a sale a couple of weeks ago, so I hopped on that opportunity right away to make sure I don’t end up running out. That said, I knew that sale would be over by the time I wrote this blog post.

When I discovered that this was my best rosacea skin care routine, I reached out to Noble Naturals and asked if they would be willing to share a coupon code with me, so I could offer it to you, Rosy Friends.  As the fabutastic company they are, they were happy to oblige.

Use coupon code 🌸  ROSY  🌸 to save 20% off your whole first order, no matter how much or how little you purchase. It’s good until August 31, 2020.

Just to reiterate, I am not affiliated/employed by/sponsored by this company. I will not make money if you use any links to it on this page or from the use of that coupon code. It’s just Noble Natural’s gift to you, Rosy Friends! I’m repeating this so you know that there are no financial incentives skewing my review. This is my personal experience with these products, and my honest opinion about them.

  1. Are you still happy with this skin care system? I’m a bit surprised by the use of MCT oil as coconut oil is comedogenic, but I’m open to trying… any chance you have an updated coupon code to share?

    • I’m still super happy with this skin care combination. I’m still using the same products a year later and just love them. I’m sorry I don’t have a coupon code to share. Noble Naturals has sales now and again that they announce on their social media if you follow them on Facebook or Instagram. If you do try it, I hope you love it as much as I do!

  3. Initially when I first realized I had Rosacea I used Metrocream which is metronidazole.
It worked but then I read about Sea Buckthorn. After trying different products some
of which were out of my comfort range for price, I’ve settled on Weleda Seabuckthorn
skin lotion. For me it works fabulously well. No more dry irritated areas and no redness.
I use a wet washcloth to clean my face, no soap or anything. Then when the skin is still
moist I put on a small dab of this lotion. One bottle lasts me about 6 months and I buy
    it a Healthy Planet.
I make sure to have it in stock because sometimes they don’t and have to order it in.
Then I buy two bottles and when the second one is half empty, I go and get another one.
I have a very very light complexion so when my buddies who have olive skin and I go for
hikes, I always look like a tomato and they look as if they didn’t break a sweat.
But afterwards, there’s no residual redness.
My skin would get super irritated by cold wind. Not anymore.

    SBT got way too expensive.

  4. Hi Julie! Just discovered your blog! I’m slowly getting through all of your posts… just wondering what exactly is your am/pm routine. I have never done a layered skincare regimen. Do you use Bedrock Balm, the Noble Naturals oil and then also the moisturizer. Would love to know. Thx so much!!!
